Water and solids — oilfield or not.

Greenleaf takes Exploration & Production waste, and a great deal that isn't. Contaminated soils, groundwater, spill media, dredge spoils, and industrial waters all come to the same permitted facility in the middle of the basin — one gate, one set of manifests, one relationship.

01 — Water

Produced & flowback water

Greenleaf operates active synthetically lined evaporation ponds certified to Section 17 requirements, plus a Class I injection well regulated by the U.S. EPA.

Having both paths matters. Throughput is not tied to pond space — water can be injected instead of ponded, or the mix shifted with the season and the stream. Tell us what you're producing and we'll tell you how we'd take it.

Evaporation Ponds 2 and 3 carry Hexprotect floating hexagonal-tile covers to cut emissions and control odor while still allowing aeration, oil extraction, and pumping equipment through.

02 — Wet Solids

Free oil recovered. Everything else separated.

Tank bottoms, drilling mud, wet cuttings, and treatment sludges arrive as a mixture with real value still locked inside them. Greenleaf recovers the free oil through a proprietary process, then dewaters what remains — sending the solids to an impoundment and the liquid into the pond system or the injection well.

  1. Receipt

    Tank bottoms, drilling mud, wet cuttings, and treatment sludges are received against an approved waste profile.

  2. Free-oil recovery

    A proprietary process breaks the mixture and liberates the free oil from the solids matrix.

  3. Dewatering

    The remaining material is dewatered, splitting it into a solid fraction and a liquid fraction.

  4. Disposition

    Recovered oil to the tank farm, solids to an impoundment, liquid to the pond system or the injection well.

03 — Dry Solids

Section 3 certified landfill cells

Greenleaf operates certified landfill cells built with liners, leachate collection, dedicated truck unload pads, and contact wastewater ponds.

Dry cuttings, contaminated soils, and comparable solid media are received against an approved waste profile, sampled on arrival, and placed in the active cell. Material is compacted to conserve airspace, with cover soil applied where needed to control odor or secure lightweight material.

Solids capacity is expanding onto neighboring property. Whatever your program looks like — a single load or a multi-year campaign — bring us the volume and we will size the answer to it.

Capacity is expanding

Greenleaf's solids capacity is increasing through a planned expansion onto neighboring properties. The additional airspace is intended to serve the basin well beyond the current cells — so operators planning multi-year programs are not planning against a closing window. Talk to us about long-term volume commitments.

Beyond the oilfield

Non-E&P soils and water.

Greenleaf is not only an oilfield disposal site. We are permitted to accept a broad range of non-Exploration & Production soils and waters — industrial, construction, transportation, and environmental cleanup streams that never came near a wellhead.

The Class I injection well is a large part of why. A Class II well is limited to oil and gas produced water; a Class I well, regulated by the EPA, is not. Between that well, the lined impoundments, and the certified landfill cells, there are very few soil or water streams we have to turn away.

Limits

What we can't take

  • RCRA Subtitle C hazardous waste
  • PCBs and asbestos
  • Medical and pharmaceutical waste
  • Municipal solid waste and C&D debris
  • Lead-acid batteries, waste tires, electronics
  • Domestic sewage and sewage sludges
  • Radioactive waste above Colorado licensing standards

Generators certify through their service contract that shipments contain none of the above. Random load inspections are performed and recorded.
